Fastwarm®-Xtra Tile-Backer Construction Boards For Walls, Wood & Concrete Sub-Floors

Fastwarm®-Xtra construction boards are lightweight, insulated tile backer boards.
 
Fastwarm®-Xtra boards are manufactured from an extruded polystyrene core, covered on both sides by a glass fibre mesh with a reinforced polymer cement coating to resist flexing. The polystyrene core has a high compressive strength (30 tonnes per m²) to withstand static floor loads.

Fastwarm®-Xtra tile-backer boards are totally waterproof and rot-resistant, making Fastwarm®-Xtra the ideal solution for tiling wet areas like bathroom walls, showers and wet-rooms.

Fastwarm®-Xtra is lightweight, easy to handle, easily cut and shaped with a sharp knife; available in depths of 6 and 10mm.

Fastwarm®-Xtra can also be used where a wooden sub-floor has been previously prepared and well screwed down and primed. Fastwarm®-Xtra tile-backer boards are bonded to the stiffened wood sub-floor using a good quality rapid setting, flexible tile adhesive - no additional mechanical fixing is required.

Fastwarm®-Xtra Insulated Tile-Backer Boards For Underfloor Heating

Fastwarm®-Xtra thermal tile-backer boards have the unique properties of high compressive strength for floor tile applications and, with the polymer reinforced cement coating, high tensile strength for wall tiles. The extruded polystyrene core gives Fastwarm®-Xtra an exceptionally low thermal conductivity, making Fastwarm®-Xtra the ideal thermal floor insulator for all electric underfloor heating systems.

Fastwarm®-Xtra insulated tile-backer boards are extremely thermally efficient, improving the effectiveness of underfloor heating over concrete and wood sub-floors. Fastwarm®-Xtra will reduce the wasted heat loss into the sub-floor, saving time in bringing the flooring up to optimum temperature, with the added advantage of reducing electricity running costs.

Using Fastwarm®-Xtra Tile-Backer Insulation Boards

Fastwarm®-Xtra thermal tile-backer boards have a specially prepared surface to accept all water based floor tile adhesives and will form a strong bond without the need for further priming.

Fastwarm®-Xtra tile-backer boards can be bonded to the sub-floor or wall surface using tile adhesive and do not require any mechanical fixings for wooden sub-floors or plaster walls. For wood studding: only 10mm boards should be used, fixed with screws and washers.
 
Fastwarm®-Xtra boards should be laid with staggered joints (brick-bond fashion) to reduce any potential movement, with the joints taped with Fastwarm® floor tape to eliminate thermal bridging between the sub-floor and the underfloor heating: in wet areas care should be taken to waterproof joints prior to tiling.

Tiles can be fixed in the normal way; however, if tiling over an underfloor heating system, a flexible tile adhesive must be used.
